About Us

After working in many restaurants we opened our own in 1976.

It all started out on Walnut Street in Shadyside Pennsylvania. We opened a restaurant and sold Greek food. That same year an arts and crafts festival came to Walnut Street. We were asked to participate as a food vendor, outside at that event. So there in 1976 we worked at our first festival, and Simon's Food Concessions was created. It was a fun experience for us, and we loved it.

The rush that we loved at the festivals has kept us there for over thirty years. It is an unexplainable excitement. The action, the people, hard work, and lots of fun. Its kept us young at heart. After some years we closed the restaurant, although we never gave up working with the festivals. We travel from one place to another. And it is so nice going back, (like going home) to these events year after year and being received so well. They wait for us and tell us how much they missed our foods.

In addition to our full time festivals we have opened several kiosks in Schenley Plaza, Pittsburgh Pa. across from Pitt University. One sells our famous Gyros named "Opa Gyros" and the other Pizza and Ice Cream named "Simon Sez Pizza Plus". We will also be available to cater events under the tent in the plaza.

Of course we are a family owned business, and we have both our son and daughter involved with us. They have been involved with us from a very young age, and have grown to also love the festival business. Along the years we have had every relative possible working with us. Some of our relatives have been with us for over twenty five years.

We continue to do full time festivals and special events and hope to work with you some day.
